GLDD's recent projects in the Texas region include maintenance dredging of the Houston Ship Channel (a top priority for Port Houston) as well as deepening of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel from the Gulf of Mexico to Harbor Island. The company, which deepens ports, helps maintains waterways, renourishes beaches and restores barrier islands, currently operates on every domestic coastline and throughout many inland U.S. The company announced the decision to move from the Chicago area last month, calling it the latest milestone for GLDD. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co., the nation's largest provider of dredging services, is relocating its corporate headquarters to Houston next year.
